On this day, 15 years ago — March 6, 2011 — the Government of Ekiti State launched a new identity. This milestone was the result of the hard work and dedication of many great Ekiti sons and daughters, under the leadership of the late former Deputy Governor, *H.E. Funmi Olayinka* (of blessed memory).
I am proud to have played a central role in that initiative during my first tour of duty as Special Assistant to the Governor on Corporate Communications, working alongside friends from the industry who were engaged as consultants.
The iconic logo and broader brand identity we unveiled was brought to life by Dr. Dele Olukayode and Dr. Bakare Lawal of E37 Studios, both interestingly medical doctors, who translated the creative direction of our team into a symbol that continues to define Ekiti State today.
H.E. Dr. Kayode Fayemi, then Governor of Ekiti State, insisted that the unveiling be held on the posthumous birthday of Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, adding an enduring historical and symbolic significance to the day.
