The House of Representatives, at plenary on Thursday, July 9, 2026, read for the third time and passed six strategic reform bills aimed at strengthening Sugar Industry Development, Meteorological Services, Livestock Transformation, Agricultural Research, Aviation and Aerospace Education, and Professional Standards.

The bills are:

1. National Sugar Development Council (Amendment) Bill

2. Nigeria Meteorological Agency (Amendment) Bill

3. Grassland and Forage/Fodder Production Research Institute, Guma-Gamawa, Bauchi State (Establishment) Bill

4. National Rice Production, Processing and Research Institute, Argungu, Kebbi State (Establishment) Bill

5. African Aviation and Aerospace University, Abuja (Establishment) Bill

6. Chartered Institute of Business Educators of Nigeria (CIBEN) (Establishment) Bill

Following their passage by the House, the bills will be transmitted to the Senate for concurrence and, thereafter, forwarded for Presidential assent in accordance with the legislative process.
