The proposed legislation spans hospitality and technological education, teacher training, healthcare access, and regional development, reflecting the House’s continued focus on expanding opportunities and strengthening public institutions across the country.
The Bills are:
1. School of Hospitality, Uzairue, Edo State (Establishment) Bill (HB. 2748)
2. Federal Universities of Technology Act (Amendment) Bill (HB. 1684)
3. Federal College of Education, Bende (Amendment) Bill (HB. 2276)
4. Federal Medical Centre and Health Sciences, Item, Bende (Establishment) Bill (HB. 2775)
5. Federal Medical Centre, Iyamho, Edo State (Establishment) Bill (SB. 717)
6. South-South Development Commission (Amendment) Bill (HB. 2674)
Collectively, the Bills seek to strengthen specialised education and skills development, expand access to healthcare services, clarify institutional frameworks, and enhance the capacity of the South-South Development Commission to deliver on its mandate.
Following their Second Reading, the Bills were referred to the relevant Committees of the House for further legislative scrutiny, stakeholder engagement, and consideration.
