The House of Representatives on Wednesday, adopted key resolutions aimed at strengthening higher education legislation and promoting agro-industrial development to enhance food security, attract investment, and create employment opportunities.

AGRICULTURAL PROCESSING AND MANUFACTURING HUB

The House adopted a motion seeking the establishment of an Agricultural Processing and Manufacturing Industrial Hub in Farakwai-Zangon Aya, Kaduna State, as a strategic intervention to reduce post-harvest losses, promote value addition, and stimulate economic growth in farming communities.

UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY BILLS

The House rescinded its earlier decisions on the Federal University of Technology, Kaduna (Establishment) Bill and the Federal University of Technology, Yaba (Establishment) Bill following a technical and legal review that identified provisions requiring refinement. Both Bills were recommitted to the Committee of the Whole for further consideration and amendments.
