Abuja, FCT | Tuesday, May 26, 2026 – The House of Representatives extends warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.
This blessed occasion commemorates the profound faith, obedience, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose devotion and submission to the will of Almighty Allah (SWT) continue to inspire millions of faithful across generations.
As families and communities gather in celebration, the House urges all Nigerians to reflect on the enduring values of compassion, selflessness, tolerance, and unity, which remain essential to building a peaceful, just, and prosperous society.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, in his congratulatory message, urged Muslims to renew their faith in Allah (SWT) and remain committed to the unity and progress of the country.
The Speaker called for renewed charity towards one another, especially the poor, the needy, and the less privileged in society. He also urged Nigerians to pray for the country, the government at all levels, unity, prosperity, and political stability.
“This period calls for deep reflection,” Speaker Abbas stated, urging Nigerians to remain selfless and to dedicate their time, resources, and service to the worship of Allah (SWT) and humanity.
The House prays that Eid-el-Kabir brings renewed strength, joy, and abundant blessings to every home, and further strengthens the bonds of harmony and mutual understanding across our country.
