Today, during plenary, on the instruction of the House Leadership, I was directed to serve as Acting Deputy Chief Whip for today, March 11, 2026. This is a routine parliamentary practice whenever members of the leadership are unavoidably absent due to other official engagements.

Such responsibility is typically entrusted to parliamentarians who possess a firm grasp of House rules, procedures, and legislative processes, to ensure that the business of the House proceeds smoothly and in line with established parliamentary practice. This is not the first time I have been called upon to act in a leadership capacity on the floor of the House, and I remain grateful for the confidence of the leadership and my colleagues.

Moments like this reaffirm that Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency is not anonymous in the House of Representatives. By the grace of God and with the continued support of our people, we will keep striving to ensure that our constituency has a strong and respected voice in the national parliament.
