Abuja, Nigeria | Thursday, February 5, 2026 – Following on the earlier release on this subject, the House of Representatives has announced a review of the constitution of the Conference Committee on the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill. This review is aimed at strengthening the Committee’s capacity to harmonise areas of difference between the versions of the Bill passed by both Chambers of the National Assembly.

According to a correspondence dated Thursday, February 5, 2026, from the Clerk to the House of Representatives, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, Esq., acting on the directive of the Leadership of the House, the revised Committee is composed as follows:

2. Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase

3. Rep. Fred Agbedi

4. Rep. Sada Soli

5. Rep. Ahmadu Jaha

6. Rep. Igariwey Iduma Enwo

7. Rep. Saidu Musa Abdullahi

8. Rep. Dr. Zainab Gimba

9. Rep. Dr. Awaji-Inombek D. Abiante

The Committee remains mandated to confer with its counterpart from the Senate with a view to harmonising the differing provisions of the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill as passed by both Chambers, ahead of final legislative action.
