The House of Representatives on Thursday advanced the 2026 Appropriation Bill, as the proposed ₦58.47 trillion Federal Budget passed Second Reading, marking a significant step in shaping Nigeria’s fiscal framework and development priorities for the 2026 financial year.
The Bill seeks to authorise the withdrawal of ₦58,472,628,944,759.00 from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation for the year ending 31 December 2026, with allocations as follows:
• ₦4.097 trillion — Statutory Transfers
• ₦15.909 trillion — Debt Service
• ₦15.251 trillion — Recurrent (Non-Debt) Expenditure
• ₦23.214 trillion — Capital Expenditure
Following its consideration, the Bill was referred to the House Committee on Appropriations, alongside relevant Committees, for detailed scrutiny and further legislative action.
