Abuja, FCT | Wednesday, December 31, 2025 – The House of Representatives warmly extends New Year greetings to all Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora as the nation steps into the year 2026 with a renewed sense of purpose, shared responsibility, and confidence in the future of our country.

The dawn of a new year presents a timely opportunity for reflection and recommitment. It is a moment to draw strength from our shared values, to recognise the resilience of Nigerian families and communities, and to reaffirm confidence in the promise of our nation, even amid prevailing challenges.

In the year ahead, the House of Representatives will intensify its focus on people-centered legislation, effective oversight, and constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders to support economic stability, enhance public service delivery, and strengthen national security. This commitment remains firmly anchored in our constitutional mandate to promote good governance and advance the welfare of all Nigerians without discrimination.

We also call on citizens to embrace the new year with a spirit of unity, lawful conduct, and civic responsibility. Sustainable national progress is achieved not only through legislation and policy, but through mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and shared responsibility between government and the governed.
