Abuja, FCT | Wednesday, December 24, 2025 – The House of Representatives extends warm felicitations to Christian faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of Christmas, marking the birth of Jesus Christ, whose life and teachings continue to inspire generations in service to God, humanity, and country.
This season recalls the enduring values of love, peace, humility, sacrifice, and compassion, exemplified by Christ, who by the power of personal example has led billions of faithful across generations toward a higher calling of service. These values remain essential to national unity, social harmony, and responsible citizenship, and the House encourages all Nigerians to uphold them during this festive period and beyond.
As citizens travel to celebrate with family and loved ones, the House urges vigilance, moderation, and strict adherence to safety measures to ensure a peaceful and incident free season across the country.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD., GCON, in his message, also urged Christians to use the occasion to pray to God for a new dawn in Nigeria, as the nation is seeking divine intervention on its socio-economic, political, and security issues.
In keeping with our constitutional responsibilities, the 10th Assembly remains steadfast in advancing effective lawmaking and democratic governance. At the final sitting for the year, the House progressed key legislative priorities, including the passage of the Electoral Act 2022 (Amendment) Bill, reaffirming commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions and electoral integrity.
As the People’s House, the House of Representatives continues to engage constructively with the Executive in support of policies aimed at safeguarding economic stability, promoting public welfare, and securing national cohesion.
