#PlenaryHighlights: Tuesday, December 16, 2025

A key part of Tuesday’s sitting at the House of Representatives was dedicated to motions sponsored by Members, leading to the adoption of two crucial motions on educational empowerment and infrastructure rescue.

The key resolutions are:

1. Educational Empowerment: The House tasked relevant health regulatory bodies to expand internship opportunities for thousands of graduates in Nursing and Midwifery, Medical Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, Optometry, Physiology, Radiography, and other allied medical disciplines who are left without internship placements annually due to limited available slots. It was noted that an estimated 10,000 to 15,000 graduate are affected each year.

2. Infrastructure Rescue: The House urged the Federal Ministry of Works, the Federal Ministry of Environment, the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), the Ecological Fund Office, and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to immediately mobilise contractors and commence emergency remedial works on the collapsed Umuma Isiaku–Nkwerre Road.
