Yesterday, my office facilitated a Media Training for the House of Representatives Press Corps on “Strengthening Reporting on the Reserved Seats for Women Bill.” I remain a strong advocate of this Bill because it represents a meaningful step toward fairer representation and a more inclusive leadership architecture for our nation.

As Chairman of the Media and Public Affairs Committee, I am committed to fostering a media ecosystem where journalism does more than relay information, one where it shapes discourse responsibly and drives national transformation. This training aligns with that vision by equipping journalists with the analytical depth, ethical grounding, and nuanced understanding required to report accurately and constructively on key legislative reforms.

I express deep appreciation to the resource persons and, in particular, to the TOS Foundation for convening this important programme. Strengthening media capacity on issues of governance is essential to building a more informed citizenry and a more participatory and inclusive democracy.
