The House of Representatives at its Tuesday sitting resolved to establish an Ad Hoc Committee to investigate and appraise the performance and benefits accruing to the Federal Government from all concessionaire-operated ports (air and sea), terminals, logistics facilities, and related shipping activities from 2006 to 2025.

This resolution followed the adoption of a Matter of Urgent Public Importance highlighting concerns that, nearly two decades after terminal operations were concessioned to private operators, anticipated improvements in port infrastructure have not materialised.

The motion also noted that several concessionaires have allegedly failed to meet agreed capital investment obligations, undermining efficiency, revenue assurance, and sectoral development.

Leadership of the Ad Hoc Committee:

• Rep. Kolawole Davidson Akinlayo (APC, Ekiti) – Chairman

• Rep. Harrison Anozie Nwadike (APC, Imo) – Deputy Chairman
