Abuja, FCT | Tuesday, October 28, 2025 – The House of Representatives is pleased to announce the release of the Order Paper for today’s plenary session, reaffirming its commitment to open and transparent legislative practice in line with parliamentary tradition.

Today’s sitting at the Green Chamber features a robust legislative agenda covering bills, reports, and motions of significant national importance.

Highlights of Today’s Agenda

Admittance into the Chamber

The House will admit a delegation of the Chairmen and Members of the Committees on Defence and Interior, and Security and Intelligence of the Parliament of Ghana, to observe plenary proceedings in the spirit of inter-parliamentary cooperation and legislative diplomacy.

Presentation of Bills

Three bills are slated for first reading, including:

1. Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (Sixth Alteration) Bill – Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON

2. Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (Sixth Alteration) Bill – Rep. Princess Miriam Onuoha

3. Federal Forestry Guards Training Institute, Ankpa, Kogi State (Establishment) Bill – Rep. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims

Presentation of Reports

The House will receive:

– A Report from the Committee on Aids, Loans and Debts Management on the request to implement new external borrowing in the 2025 Appropriations Act, refinance maturing Eurobonds, and issue a debut sovereign Sukuk in the international capital market.

– A Joint Report of the Committees on Special Duties and Aviation on a bill to amend the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau Act, 2022.

Bills for Consideration

Six bills are listed for second reading, including proposals to:

– Establish the Federal College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, Isoko, Delta State.

– Establish a Nigerian Fintech Regulatory Commission.

– Establish the Chartered Institute of Human Resources Management.

– Amend the Constitution to create additional Local Government Areas in Benue State.

– Establish the National Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture Studies, Iwopin, Ogun State.

– Establish the Federal College of Orthopedic Technology and Therapy, Rumuepirikom, Rivers State.

Motions

The House will deliberate on motions addressing national infrastructure, environment, and sustainable development, including:

– Completion of the Multipurpose Dam Project in Kajola Village, Ile-Ife, Osun State – Rep. Ajilesoro Taofeek Abimbola.

– Rehabilitation of the Kano–Kari Highway across Kano, Jigawa, and Bauchi States – Rep. Yusuf Shitu Galambi and others.

– Promoting sustainable green practices within the Three Arms Zone – Rep. Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi.

– Connection of Ode-Itsekiri Town in Delta State to the National Grid – Rep. Thomas Ereyitomi.

Reports for Consideration

Among reports scheduled for consideration are:

– The Bill to Establish the Federal Oil and Gas Hospital, Beni-Krukuru, Delta State.

– The Bill to Establish the Project Development Agency (PRODA), Enugu State.

– The Bill to Repeal and Re-enact the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology Act.
