This week, the House of Representatives received 55 new legislative proposals, reflecting a broad commitment to key national priorities outlined in our Legislative Agenda (2023–2027). These bills span critical sectors, reinforcing our dedication to governance reforms, national security, economic growth, and social development.
A significant portion of the bills introduced this week are Constitution Alteration bills, demonstrating the House’s ongoing effort to strengthen democratic institutions. Additionally, many are amendment bills, aimed at updating existing laws to align with contemporary realities and global best practices.
Among the standout proposals are the Environmental, Social, and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA) Bill, the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency Act (Amendment) Bill, and the Body-Worn Cameras by Law Enforcement Officers Bill.
Others include key amendments to the Electricity Act, Fiscal Responsibility Act, and the Criminal and Penal Codes—reflecting the House’s proactive stance in shaping a responsive and effective legal framework for the nation.
