I was delighted to participate in today’s plenary session, which featured an in-depth and illuminating debate on the Executive Tax Bills.
The discussions underscored the critical role of tax policy in fostering economic growth, enhancing revenue generation, and ensuring fiscal sustainability.
I commend the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, for his exemplary leadership in presiding over the session with patience, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to inclusivity – ensuring that every member who wished to contribute had the opportunity to do so.
I am pleased to report that, following rigorous deliberations, the Tax Bills have now passed Second Reading, marking a significant step forward in our legislative process.
Furthermore, I had the distinct honour of receiving in audience my dear leader, Honourable Commissioner Akin Oyebode, HC Finance Ekiti and Chairman, Conference of State Finance Commissioners – a visionary public servant whose insights and contributions to economic development and grassroots politics continue to inspire.
Ahead, Ahead, in Jesus’ name.
