As my son Akinade and I mark our 9th and 45th birthdays respectively today, I am using this moment of reflection to share updates from our recently held Easter Thanksgiving Service, an occasion that holds deep personal significance for us.
I was born on April 17, 1981, a day that fell on Good Friday. Years later, on my 36th birthday, my son was born on Easter Monday. For us Easter boys, the season is far more than a date on the calendar; it is a deeply personal marker of renewal and new beginnings each year.
That is why our Easter Thanksgiving Service holds such special significance. The 3rd edition, organized by the AkinỌmọAkin Constituency Office in collaboration with CAN (Ikole & Oye LGAs), was a deeply enriching and reflective gathering. It brought together constituents, leaders, and families in an atmosphere of worship, gratitude, and renewed commitment to godly values.
The theme, “Righteousness Exalts a Nation: Personal Integrity as the Foundation of National Renewal,” was both timely and thought-provoking, reminding us all of our individual responsibility in building a better society.
The ministrations by Pastor Tope Godson and Paul Tomisin were powerful and uplifting, leaving us all inspired and strengthened in faith.
I am particularly grateful for the presence of Ekiti North senatorial aspirants, Senator Ayo Arise and Otunba Dare Owolabi, whose attendance added great value and encouragement to the gathering.
I am sincerely grateful to everyone who made time to attend and all those who worked with us to make the event a success. This is a tradition we are committed to sustaining and growing.
So, as we mark our birthdays today, we also thank you for all the expressions of goodwill.
I remain steadfast in my commitment to service, integrity, and impactful representation for our people.
