Abuja, FCT | Saturday, April 4, 2026 – The House of Representatives extends warm felicitations to Christian faithful in Nigeria and around the world as they celebrate Easter, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of the Christian faith.

Easter symbolises the triumph of life over death and hope over despair. Its enduring message inspires compassion, forgiveness, service to others, and renewed commitment to the common good.

Beyond its spiritual significance, Easter offers a moment of national reflection, reminding Nigerians that renewal is possible through unity, reconciliation, and shared purpose. The House encourages citizens to uphold these values in strengthening democratic progress, responsible citizenship, and social harmony.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD., GCON, in his goodwill message urged Christians to observe and emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ, whom he described as a “perfect role model for all,” while also calling for continued prayers for Nigeria and mutual respect among people of all faiths and tribes.

“…prayers have indeed attracted divine intervention to socio-economic, political, and religious issues that have torn other nations apart,” he added.

The House of Representatives wishes all Christian faithful a blessed and joyful Easter celebration.

We express hope that the spirit of Easter will inspire service to the nation and strengthen our collective resolve to build a just, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.

Signed:

Rep. Akin Rotimi, mnipr
