The House of Representatives held plenary on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON.
The House passed the 2026 Appropriation Bill totalling ₦68.3 trillion and approved an amendment extending the implementation of the capital component of the 2025 budget to June 30, 2026.
Lawmakers also approved external financing arrangements, including a $5 billion Total Return Swap framework and a $1 billion UK Export Finance-backed facility for the rehabilitation of key port infrastructure in Lagos.
During proceedings, thirty Honourable Members announced changes in party affiliation. The House thereafter adjourned plenary to Tuesday, April 21, 2026, to allow Members engage constituents and observe the Easter period.
