Last week, I had the honour of joining a House of Representatives delegation, led by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, at the Interfaith breaking of fast hosted by the President, H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the Presidential Villa.

Both Speaker Abbas and President Tinubu delivered thoughtful remarks on the need for unity, the imperative of staying the course on critical reforms, and the importance of strengthening the institutions that sustain our democracy.

Our religious observances, including fasting as practiced by the majority of Nigerian Muslims during Ramadan and Christians during Lent, should nurture deeper personal integrity in every citizen. When compounded across the nation, such integrity can inspire genuine national renewal.
