The House of Representatives today addressed four urgent national matters, spanning disability inclusion, public health emergency, and security. All motions were adopted and referred to relevant Committees for legislative oversight.

1. Commemorating International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)

The House calls on the Federal Government to fully implement the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018, ensuring accessibility, employment quotas, social protection, and sanctions against discrimination.

2. Ogijo Lead Poisoning Emergency

The House mandates the Federal Ministries of Environment, Health & Social Welfare, and NESREA to deploy an emergency response team in collaboration with Ogun State authorities.

3. Addressing Insecurity in Kogi

The House urges President Bola Tinubu to halt mining activities in three LGAs linked to persistent attacks, ensuring community safety.

4. Defeating Lakurawa Bandits in Kebbi

The House calls on the Nigerian Air Force, Army, Police, and all security agencies to coordinate clearance operations across Soda Forest, Bagudo, Suru hills, and the state to end banditry.
