The House of Representatives on Tuesday convened a Special Plenary Session dedicated to a comprehensive review of Nigeria’s security landscape and to strengthening legislative measures against current and emerging threats. Presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON, the Session received consolidated assessments and presentations from key security-related Committees.

Deliberations will continue on Wednesday, when Regional and Zonal Caucus Leaders will brief the House on security realities across the six geopolitical zones, providing Members the opportunity to present constituency-level insights and contribute to a unified national response. Proceedings will culminate in the adoption of a robust Security Resolution to guide coordinated action and oversight.
