The Member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Rep. Folajimi Oyekunle, today took the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Membership of the House of Representatives. The Oath was administered by the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, at the commencement of Tuesday’s plenary under the guidance of the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, GCON.
Elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Rep. Oyekunle is the last of five Members inaugurated to fill vacant seats in the Green Chamber. These vacancies arose from the resignation of one Member from Edo State and the death of four Members of the 10th Assembly.
He succeeds the late Rep. Olaide Adewale Akinremi (APC), whose seat was declared vacant following his passing in July 2024. Following the August 16, 2025 bye-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to fill the vacant seats, Rep. Oyekunle emerged victorious at the polls.
