A new Member of the House of Representatives, Rep. Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, today took the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Membership. The Deputy Clerk (Legislative) of the House, Mrs. Kehinde Florence Amos, administered the oaths at the commencement of Thursday’s plenary presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, CFR.
Elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Rep. Ayoola-Elegbeji becomes the 17th female legislator in the Green Chamber of the 10th Assembly.
She succeeds the late Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (APC), who served as Deputy Chief Whip of the House until her sad demise in January 2025.
Following her demise, the Speaker declared the constituency seat vacant, paving the way for Princess Elegbeji’s emergence through her victory at the August 16, 2025 bye-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
