Abuja, FCT | Friday, September 5, 2025 – The House of Representatives extends warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud, the commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

This sacred observance is an invitation to reflect on the timeless values of faith, humility, compassion, justice, and devotion to the common good, all of which were exemplified by the Holy Prophet. These virtues provide enduring guidance as we collectively work toward building a more peaceful, united, and prosperous Nigeria.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD., GCON, in his Mawlud al-Nabī message, urges Muslims to continue to pray for Nigeria, and live by the example of Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

“The teachings of the Prophet (SAW) are meant to guide mankind towards peace, love, and charity to one another.

“Despite the socio-economic challenges faced by Nigeria, this country has the potential to prosper if the leaders and the followers abide by the God-given principles as outlined by the Prophet (SAW),” he stressed.

The House of Representatives reaffirms its commitment to legislation and oversight that advance social justice, inclusivity, and national development, in line with the aspirations of all Nigerians.

We wish the Muslim Ummah a fulfilling Eid-el-Maulud, and pray for the continued peace, unity, and prosperity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
