Yesterday, two of my constitution amendment bills successfully passed the second reading in the House, marking a significant progress in our legislative efforts.
The Bill to Provide Special Seats for Special Interest Groups (Women and Persons with Disabilities) in the House of Representatives – Sponsored by Rep. Akintunde Rotimi (HB. 1811). This bill aims to enhance inclusive representation by ensuring dedicated seats for underrepresented groups in our legislative process.
The Bill to Establish State & Local Government Police – Co-sponsored by Rep. Francis Ejiroghene Waive and Rep. Akintunde Rotimi (HBs. 1305 & 1807). This bill seeks to strengthen security at the subnational levels by decentralizing policing and enhancing community safety.
These legislative advancements bring us closer to a more inclusive and secure Nigeria.
