Honoring a Legacy: Celebrating My Father’s 84th Posthumous Birthday and the Distinguished History of Ekiti North 1 Representation

Today, November 25, 2024, on the occasion of my late father’s 84th birthday anniversary, I celebrate him as one of my worthy predecessors in office. His legacy inspires me as I continue to serve the good people of Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) Federal Constituency.

The extant Ekiti North 1, which started as two separate constituencies in 1979 – Ekiti North (Ikole) Ondo State, and Ekiti North (Oye), Ondo State – was merged into one in 1999.

The history of distinction of my worthy predecessors who came before me motivates me to build on their contributions.

Recently, when the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD., GCON, visited my office, I proudly showed him our Wall of Honour, and shared the stellar record of representation in our constituency, underscoring my determination to raise the bar even higher.

Today, I honour the memory of my father, Hon. Chief Akintunde Rotimi, Sr., and also celebrate all those who have represented our constituency with distinction through the years:
