Abuja, Nigeria | Friday, July 5, 2024 – The good people of Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) federal constituency welcome the Honorable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Tunji Alausa, to Ikole-Ekiti for the momentous signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ekiti State Government and the Federal Government. This historic agreement marks the official handover of the Ikole State Specialist Hospital to the Federal Ministry of Health for its upgrade to a Federal Medical Center.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to H.E. Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his unwavering commitment to this transformative development. His decision to adopt the recommendations for the facility in Ikole-Ekiti to be chosen has been instrumental in bringing this significant milestone to fruition.

We also commend Dr. Banji Filani, the Commissioner for Health and Human Services, for his exemplary leadership and tireless efforts in spearheading this initiative. His collaborative efforts, along with the contributions of other Ikole Local Government indigenes in the state government, have been pivotal in achieving this success.

We recognize and appreciate the commendable sub-national legislative efforts of Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, and Hon. Femi Fatunla (Ikole 1), along with the entire Ekiti State House of Assembly, whose support and dedication have made this achievement possible.

Furthermore, we thank the Senate Leader and Leader of the Ekiti State delegation of the National Assembly, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, and all other Ekiti NASS lawmakers for the ongoing efforts to ensure that the new Federal Medical Centre is fully backed by law. As the representative of Ekiti North 1 (Ikole/Oye) at this historic time, I affirm my commitment to continue stewarding efforts in this regard.

This development signifies a new era of enhanced healthcare services for the people of Ikole-Ekiti and beyond. The proximity of the facility to many communities in Ikole, Oye, Omuo, and other local governments will serve the upliftment of our people.

We look forward to the positive impact this upgrade will bring to our community and remain steadfast in our dedication to advancing the health and well-being of our citizens.
